Varicose Veins

Your heart pumps blood filled with oxygen and nutrients through the arteries to all parts of the body. After the oxygen is delivered, veins carry the blood back to your heart.

The motion of your leg muscles helps move the blood back to the heart from the lower body. These lower-body veins have one-way valves that prevent the blood from flowing backward as it moves up the legs.

But when the one-way valves become weak, blood leaks back down into the vein and collects there. Over time, the pooled blood enlarges the vein. These “varicose” veins are often described as looking like ropes or grapes under the skin, and may be discolored.

Our board-certified physicians offer a consultation to determine the best procedure for your varicose vein treatment. We have access to a wide range of treatments, including the latest laser ablation procedures and other gentle, non-invasive techniques. In your consultation, the doctor answers your questions and provides you with all the details and options you should consider.
